WBPSC Advertisement No. 26/2018– Public Service Commission, West Bengal invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for recruitment of 957 Sub-Inspector Positions, in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-III, under Food & Supplies Department, Government of West Bengal. Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Examination (MCQ type) and Personality Test.
Sub-Inspector, Food & Supplies Department: 957 Vacancies, in the scale of pay Rs. 5,400 – 25,200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 2600/-
Candidates applied for Food Inspector Recruitment 2018 in West Bengal must get prepared for the examination. The Commission will conduct the examination for Food Inspector Recruitment in January 2019. The exam date is confirmed and it will be held on 27th January 2019. The candidates will be able to download the admit card at the end of December 2018.

Offline payment of fees can be made up to the 19th September, 2018 at any branches of UBI. However, the Challan for making the payment in bank should be generated by the 18th September, 2018.
Qualification: Candidates must have Pass in Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. Candidates should be Ability to read ,write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali). Candidates must possess sound health and ability to undertake extensive tours in rural areas of west Bengal.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 40 years as on 01.01.2018. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.
Application Fee:
Rs. 110/- + Service Charge 1% of Examination Fee subject to a minimum of Rs.5/- plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee for online payment through debit/credit cards;
Convenience fee of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee for online payment through net banking;
Service Charge of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only for offline payment through bank counter.
SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal, and Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee.
Selection procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Examination (MCQ type) and Personality Test, followed by medical examination.
Written Test- 100 marks. The examination will consists of only one paper containing Multiple choice objective type questions on General Studies (50 marks) and Arithmetic (50 marks) and having 1 hour and 30 minutes duration.
Syllabus of Written Exam- General studies (Matters of common experience including every day science, current events and problems with special reference to India, elementary knowledge of Indian history and Indian Geography.
Arithmetic (Questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination of
the WBBSE)) with Mental Ability.
Personality Test- 20 marks.. A limited number of candidates selected merit-wise on the results of the Written Test will be called to appear at the Personality Test.. Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written Examination and the marks obtained in the Personality Test .
