The online Applications can be withdrawn from 19.10.2022 to 25.10.2022 till 18.00 Hours
Date of Preliminary Written Examination: 19-February-2023 [The Preliminary Examination for Combined Geo-Scientist Examination for two Objective Type papers will be conducted on OMR Sheet. There will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.]
The Main Examination will be held on 24th June, 2022 and 25th June, 2023 [Candidates who will be declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination will be allowed to take the Combined Geo Scientist (Main) Examination.]

COMBINED GEO-SCIENTIST Exam 2023 Education Essentials:
Geologist, Group A: The candidates must possess Masters Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geo-sciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geo physical Technology.
Geophysicist, Group A: The candidates must possess Masters Degree in Physics/ Applied Physics/ M.Sc. In Geophysics/ Integrated M.Sc. in Exploration Geophysics/ M.Sc. in Marine Geophysics/ M.Sc. (Tech.) in Applied Geophysics.
Chemist, Group A: The candidates should have obtained M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology) Group ‘A’ in C.G.W.B: The candidates must possess Master’s degree in Geology or applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology.
Age Requirement (As on 01-January-2023):
Category I: (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 32 years.
Category II: Posts in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 32 years.
Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per prevailing norms.
Application Fee: All Applicants (except Female/ SC/ ST/ PH Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or any of its associate banks by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.
COMBINED GEO-SCIENTIST Exam 2023 How to Apply: Candidates must apply online through the ORA only available at the website of UPSC at upsconline.nic.in/mainmenu2.php
The applicants are advised to submit a single application only. The candidates are advised to read through the detailed notification available at UPSC 02-2023-GEOL Notification CGSE-2023, prior to applying online. After submitting the Online Recruitment Application, the candidates are required to take out a print out of the finally submitted Online Recruitment Application and keep that with them for future reference. Candidates should also note down their RID number for future reference.
The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate two weeks before the commencement of the examination. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.
