Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Examination -2013
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is the apex authority for selection of various Government positions in Group-B and Group-C profile of posts, is presently all set to go for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGE) for the year 2013. The notification has been served and the details of the vacancies and expected criteria for recruitment can be accessed now. The details of the examination is detailed as under: Minimum basic Educational Criteria for Appearing the examination: Graduation from a recognized university in India. The candidates must have proficiency in Computer operation, as well. Application Fees: The application fees for the year 2013 is as follows:
- For General and OBC candidates: Rs. 100 only
- For SC, ST, Women, Ex-Servicemen, Women, PWD: Fees Exempted
Mode of Payment of Application Fees:
- For Paper or Offline Applications, candidates should pay the fee by means of ‘Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS)’ only
- The candidates submitting their applications Online should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India Challan or on-line account with SBI

Essential Requirement: The candidates need to take any of the Photo ID card with them to appear for the examination as scheduled. Without photo ID a candidate cannot get admission into the examination hall. - For the Positions from A to R : Rs.9300-Rs.34800 with Grade Pays varying from Rs.4200 -Rs.4600
- For the positions from S to BB: Rs.5200-Rs.20200 with Grade Pays varying from Rs.2400 -Rs.2800
Age Requirement:
- For Inspector of Income Tax/ Inspector (Central Excise)/ Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examiner)/ Inspector of Posts/ Assistant Enforcement Officer/ Inspector (CBN) Compiler/ Divisional Accountant/ Auditors/ UDCs/ Tax Assistants/ Junior Accountant & Accountant/ Sub-Inspector (CBN): 18-27 years as on 1-Jan-2013
- For Statistical Investigator Gr.II: Should not exceed 26 years as on 1-Jan-2013
- For Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI: 20-27 years as on 1-Jan-2013
Essential Qualifications as on 1-Jan-2013:
- Compiler: Bachelors Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
- Statistical Investigator Grade – II: Bachelors Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects OR Bachelors Degree with Mathematics( with Statistics as a papers studied in one year/two years/all three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects OR Bachelors Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects OR Bachelors Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
- All other Posts: Bachelors Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
Mode of Selection: The Examination will be conducted in 3 tiers as indicated below:
- Tier-I: Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
- Tier-II: Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
- Tier-III: Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification & Descriptive/ online test of qualifying nature.
Note:
- Answer Sheets for Written Exam will be OMR in nature
- Pas of physical fitness may be required for certain posts as per the government guidelines
- For typing skill test an average speed of 8000 key depressions per minute is required
Mode of Application/ How to Apply:
- Both Online as well as Offline application are accepted for CGE .
- Online mode: The candidates can log in to the web portal of SSC at //ssconline.nic.in and //ssconline2.gov.in to apply. The candidates are not required to submit the print copy of application to the commission at this time
- Offline mode: The candidates need to submit the completed application along with photocopies of their credentials with the regional/ sub-regional offices of SSC
