Jharkhand Academic Council Ranchi: Fresh Ideas For Quality Education
Starting from a small rented house, the Jharkhand Academic Council has travelled a lot in just about 13 years. With the motto of providing quality based education in Jharkhand and Bihar, the board now conducts several examinations at the end of intermediate classes, secondary classes, Sanskrit education and Madrasa education. Apart from holding these tests, the organization also makes several recommendations from time to time to high schools, secondary schools, other educational institutions and even State government on carrying out other duties related to the field of literacy.
A Brief History of Jharkhand Academic Council
The council was established under an act passed by the Jharkhand State Legislature on 15th June 2000 and was assented by the governor of state on 26th December 2003, commonly referred to as Jharkhand Academic Council Act 09.7.2003. The Council establishment marked the repealing of existing Bihar Education Council Act 1992, Bihar Examination Board Act 1952, Bihar Sanskrit Education Board Act 1981 and Bihar Board of Madrasa Education 1981. The original dwelling for the team was a small house in the region of Rameshwaram and the secondary portion began its journey from Zila School Ranchi Campus. The present office of the council was inaugurated by the honorable Chief Minister of State Shri Arjun Munda on December 13, 2003. Presently the office is located at Narkum district in Ranchi.
The Present Working Team
The entire council is supervised upon by a Chairman, who is assisted by several officers like Vice Chairman, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Finance Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Academics officer. Every member of the council except Chairman and Chartered Accountant is elected for a span of three years as per the government notification.
The Preservation of Local Languages Madrasa and Sanskrit
State government has taken every possible step to unite every educational branch and bring both Sanskrit (Madhyama) and Madrasa under the same umbrella. With one of the goals that no subject is left under the shade of neglect, the steps taken by the council and government are really appreciable.
Introduction of CBSE Curriculum
The council took a major step forward in the field of education by introducing the CBSE curriculum from primary stage to secondary stage, at all levels, enabling the students gain the basic knowledge provided by national education program freely, equally and naturally all over the country. CBSE board has recognized all the examinations being conducted under Jharkhand Academic Council and has also issued a no objection certificate in regard to the implementation of the national curriculum. Apart from CBSE, many other boards across the country have also granted recognition to the examinations conducted under the council and appreciated the quality of education being provided in this state, under the mission.
Periodic Workshops and Ceremonies
The council is periodically engaged in the conduct of several workshops and orientation courses to help the teachers gain awareness on the latest schemes brought up by CBSE. These special classes are organized with the collaboration of leading publishers.
The board also manages a special online portal to help the students view complete academic schedule, list of holidays, examination date sheets and their result status. The board has distinguished itself in the field of quality education and has achieved several awards and honors from the state government as well.
