The Railway Recruitment Board states that the RRB has received about 2.37 crore applications for the Group C and Group D Posts advertised. This is why there is a delay in the release of the first stage CBT exam schedule/ dates for the RRB Group C and Group D Posts.
According to the latest news, The Railway Recruitment Board will conduct the RRB Group D exam in the month of August. The Exam of the RRB Group D Posts will be conducted in slots and these slots are divided as alphabetical order or name wise. The slot of the exam will start from 09th August 2018.

This national level of recruitment is to be held for filling up of vacancies at various levels of requirements across India and is tentatively figured at a total of 26502. Candidates can choose only one RRB and indicate their preference of Railway Units and posts against vacancies notified for the chosen RRB only.
Pay Provisions: Scale of Pay Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs. 9900/- plus other allowances as admissible.
Apart from the basic pay scale the candidates selected for such positions will be eligible to get TA, DA, HRA, Accommodation, Special duty allowances, Contributory PF, leave Encashment, Leave benefits and other facilities as per the prevailing rules and recommendations by the Indian railways.
Application Fee:
Rs. 250/- for For Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class
Rs. 500/- for all Other candidates
The application fees can be paid through online mode internet banking or debit/credit cards upto 05.03.2018 till 22.00 Hrs.
In offline mode, application fees can be paid in form of Challan Payment mode closes on 05.03.2018 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of SBI; OR Post Office Challan Payment mode closes on 03.03.2018 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of computerized Post Office.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. AGE:
The interested candidate should be within the age group of 18-28 years and would be reckoned as on July 01, 2018. The upper age limit for privileged class will be relaxed as per the norms of the government for specific categories of recruitment. (For details log on to the website of the RRBs concerned).
2. Academics:
The interested candidate should possess Matriculation with two years ITI certificate/ Diploma/ Intermediate Certificate as dimmed for specific positions as advertised.
For certain recruitment areas where matriculation with ITI has been prescribed are required qualification, Diploma/ Degree in Engineering will not be entertained.

Selection Procedure: There shall be two stages examination (First stage CBT and Second Stage CBT) common for ALP and Technician. In addition , candidates who have opted for ALP and qualified in Second Stage CBT have to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT). Marks will be normalized in all the stages of exam.
There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in First and Second Stage CBT. 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer. There shall be no negative marking for Computer Based Aptitude Test.
First Stage CBT (Common for ALP/Technician): Duration: 60 Min, No of Questions: 75
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
The First Stage CBT is of screening nature. The score of first stage exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for second stage exam as per their merit.
Syllabus of First Stage CBT
Mathematics Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc
General Science The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level.
General awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and other subjects of importance.
Second Stage CBT: Total Duration:2 hours and 30 Minutes. The Second Stage CBT shall have two parts viz Part Aand Part B.
PART A Duration: 90 Min, No of Questions: 100
PART B Duration: 60 Min, No of Questions: 75
Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified
Computer Based Aptitude Test (Only for candidates who have opted for ALP): The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates Based on the performance of candidates in Part Aof the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT (For Technician posts) and based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT (For ALP), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification
