Delhi Urban Art Commission invited applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of one post of Junior Stenographer (Group ‘C’), by Direct Recruitment basis in the Pay Matrix Level-4, Basic Pay Rs.25,500/-.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Exam and Skill Test during November, 2022.
Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. Candidates should have speed of at least 80 words per minute in shorthand & 40 words per minute in typing in English.
Candidates possess Degree of a recognized University, and/ or having experience of working in a Government office or undertaking; will be preferred.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years as on 01-October-2022. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.

PHASE-1 Written Exam
100 Marks : 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) : Duration of Exam- 120 Minutes
English Language and Comprehension of 20 Marks, General Intelligence & Reasoning of 20 Marks, Numerical Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) of 20 Marks, General Awareness of 20 Marks and Computer Awareness of 20 Marks
PHASE-2 Typing/ Skill Test
40 words per minute in typing in English only. Duration of Skill/Typing Test – 10 minutes. Typing/Skill test shall be qualifying in Nature.
PHASE-3 Shorthand/ Steno Test
Dictation through audio clip in English language having 800 Words with duration of 10 mins and their transcription having duration of 45 mins. Steno pad and HB pencils shall be facilitated at test venues. Shorthand/Steno Test shall be qualifying nature.

English Language & Comprehension:
Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting misspelled words, Idioms & Phrases, One-word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage, Parts of speech
General Awareness:
Knowledge of current events and questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc.
General Intelligence & Reasoning:
It would include questions of both verbal and non- verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
Computer Literacy:
The candidate is expected to be able to handle all regular office work on computers. Knowledge of MS office (word, excel, PowerPoint) including basic commands, Google Docs, emails, digital signature, commonly use social media handles (Whatsapp, FB, Twitter, etc.) would be tested.
Quantitative Aptitude:
Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between number.
Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distances, Time and Work.
Statistical Charts: Use of Table and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-Chart.
