Eligibility criteria:
There are numerous ways by which the aspirant can enter the Indian Army. One can join right after the completion of his schooling or after his graduation. The interested candidates need to clear their NDA exam and specify the choice of Academy they wish to join. The unmarried males and females can apply for the Indian Army. The minimum age is 19 years while the maximum is 25 years for NCC. It is required that the students hold their graduation degree from an accredited university with 55% average marks. Students in final year can also apply. They are required to have served 2 academic years in NCC with minimum B grade in C Certificate exam of the NCC.

Procedure of selection:
The process of selection adopted by the Indian Army is:
- Preliminary screening and short-listing of candidates
- Selected candidates shall be asked to appear at Service Selection Board for Group Test, Intellectual test and personal interview.
- Shortlisted candidates to go through medical test.
- Two stage Psychological Aptitude Test
- Selected candidates to undergo training at NDA and Indian Military Academy
