Central Armed Police Forces as a congregation of major Para-Military Forces of India presently constitutes of BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, and ITBP. This force is operating under the ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and is responsible for safe-keeping of internal law and order within the country without the boundaries of the states. These forces also help the national Armed Forces (Indian Army, Navy and IAF) during the national emergency. They are considered as highly respected forces of India and are quite well-known for their acts of bravery and gallantry.
With the recent announcement, the CAPF Medical Service Selection Board, an advertisement has been published to recruit Medical Officers, Specialists and Super Specialist Medical Officers in CAPF in the profiles of Assistant Commandants, Deputy Commandants and Second in Command.

Candidate appointed to the cadre in the grade of Super Specialist Medical Officers, Specialist Medical Officers and Medical Officers shall be on probation for a period of two years.

Admit Card: Candidates, whose online applications are found in order, will be issued e-admit card mentioning date, time and venue for ‘Documentation & Interview’ by a designated Board of Officers.
Selection Procedure: All candidates, who have been issued online admit cards and called for Interview will bring a clear and legible print out of the admit card and following original testimonials along with one set of self attested copies of the same.
The designated board will conduct interview of the candidates found eligible after documentation. The interview will carry 200 marks.
Candidates who qualify the Interview, shall be checked for the Physical Standards by a designated Board of Officers on the same day or on the next day following the date of interview.
Candidates qualified in Physical Standards Test (PST) will be required to undergo Medical Examination Test (MET) by a duly constituted Board of Medical Officers of CAPFs & AR on same day or the following day of PST.
Education Qualification:
- Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant): The applicant must have passed Medical Qualification in Allopathic Stream as included in the first or 2nd Schedule or Part-II of the 3rd Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. The applicant must have permanent registration from any MCI/NMC/State
Medical Council before appointment in any of the CAPFs & AR, and They must have completed their Compulsory Rotating Internship by the date of appointment in CAPF. - Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): The applicant must have passed Medical Qualification in Allopathic Stream as included in the first or 2nd Schedule or Part-II of the 3rd Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. The candidates should have registered them as Medical Practitioners in any State Medical Council/ Medical Council of India. The candidates must have required Post-Graduate Degree/ Diploma Qualification in the specialty concerned as defined in the Section-A or Section-B in Schedule-I of the Indian Medical Council Act. They must have 1 and half years of experience in concerned specialty after obtaining Post-Graduate Degree and must have 2 and half years of experience in concerned specialty after obtaining Post-Graduate Diploma.
- Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command): The candidates must have passed a Bachelors Degree in Medicine (M.B.B.S.) or equivalent from a recognized university/Institution included in the first schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, and Should be enrolled in any State Medical Register maintained under the Act, and Should have completed compulsory rotating internship, and Possess posses Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in the related Specialty mentioned in Section ‘A’ or Section ‘B’ in Schedule I to the Indian Medical Council Act,1956 (102 of 1956) or equivalent, and Posses Doctorate of Medicine (DM) or Magister Chirurguie (M.Ch.) or equivalent with three years experience in the concerned Super-Specialty after obtaining the first post-graduate degree. Senior Residency period will also be
counted towards experience, physical and medical standard, and must have permanent registration from MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
Age Specification:
- Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant): A candidate must not have crossed 30 years as on the last date of receipt of application to be eligible for this consideration
- Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): A candidate must not have crossed 40 years as on the last date of receipt of application to be eligible for this consideration
- Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command): A candidate must not have crossed 50 years as on the last date of receipt of application to be eligible for this consideration
- However, there will be relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC & Ex-service candidates in accordance with the CAPF norms.
Physical Standards:
- Height: 157.50 cm (142 cm for female category)
- Weight: Proportionate to height
- Chest: 77 Cm without expansion and 82 cm with expansion (not applicable for female)
- Eye Power: 6/6 and 6/9 or 6/12 and 6/9 with correction in both eyes Only glass and Lasic surgery are permitted as correction.
Pay Provisions:
- Medical Officers and Dental Surgeon: The applicants getting selected for these positions will be eligible for Level-10 of Pay Matrix or minimum pay in the first cell of Pay Matrix as specified in Part-A of the schedule of CCS(Revised Pay) Rules, 2016, pay scale Rs.56,100-1,77,500 per month plus other benefits.
- Specialist Medical Officers: The applicants getting selected for these positions will be eligible for Level-11 of Pay Matrix or minimum pay in the first cell of Pay Matrix as specified in Part-A of the schedule of CCS(Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 , pay scale Rs. 67,700-2,08,700 per month plus other benefits.
- Super Specialist Medical Officers: The applicants getting selected for these positions will be eligible for Level-12 of Pay Matrix or minimum pay in the first cell of Pay Matrix as specified in Part-A of the schedule of CCS(Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 , pay scale Rs. 78,800-2,09,200 per month plus other benefits.
